Tip 24:   How to 'Autoselect' Lotto Games

This Tip shows you how to place a Lotto game on your menu for 'Autoselection'.  This lets you select a game with one mouse click.

What is a Game 'Autoselection'?

When you start your Lottery Director Lotto program, you have a 'SELECT A LOTTERY GAME' menu.

At this menu, you can select any Lotto game.  There are more than 120 Lotto games in the database.

For your convenience, you can add your own favorite games to this menu.  Then you can select a favorite game with just one mouse click.

You can put up to four of your favorite games on this menu -- they are called your game 'Autoselections'.

Do I Need to Put My Games on This Menu?

No.  It's for your convenience only.

You can always select any Lotto game with two mouse clicks.  Putting a favorite game on this menu simply saves you one mouse click -- plus, you don't need to look for your game in the list of games.  It will be there on your menu, every time you start the Lotto program.

If I Put a Game on This Menu, Can I Change It Later?

Yes.  You can add, delete, or change a game on the menu at any time.  Just follow the steps below.


How to Put an 'Autoselection' Game on Your Menu:

There are two parts to doing this.

First, identify your game.

Then, put the game on the menu.

1.  Identifying Your Game

Use Your 'Directory of Lottery Files' to Find Your Game:

Start your Lottery Director software, by clicking on its icon on your Windows desktop.

  • On your opening menu  'LOTTERY DIRECTOR SELECTIONS',  select your 'Directory of Lottery Files'.

  • Your Directory shows you all of the Pick-3, Pick-4, and Lotto games in your database.


  • Go to the Lotto games area, by clicking on the "L" (or by pressing your "L" key).


  • Find your Lotto game.  At the left side, you see the game's 'Game Code'.  It has a pair of 2-character fields.  Examples:

         AZ   LO       (Arizona Lotto)
         BC   49       (British Columbia 49)
         CA   39       (California Fantasy 5)


  • Note the pair of 2-character fields for your game (write them down).


  • Now you can select "QUIT" to close your 'Directory of Lottery Files'.


2.  Putting the Game on Your Menu

Go to Your Lotto Program:

Start your Lottery Director software, by clicking on its icon on your Windows desktop.

  • On your opening menu  'LOTTERY DIRECTOR SELECTIONS',  select your  'Lotto Lottery'  program.


  • Select any game.  For example, you can select your Practice Program.


  • Now you are at your MAIN screen for the game you selected.  (Make sure you are at your MAIN screen.)

  • At the top of your MAIN screen (in the Red area), you see your options.  Select your 'VIEW' option.


  • Now you are at your 'VIEW' menu.  On this menu, select 'Lottery Game File Options'.

  • Now you see a menu for choosing four game selections (numbered 1 to 4).

    Some of these may be used, and some may be blank.  Select any one of them.

  • Now you see a screen for identifying the game you want to Autoselect.  The software will ask you to enter two codes to identify your game:

         'State' code,
         'Lottery Identifier' code.

    Enter the two codes which identify your game.  Each code has two characters (like the examples in  Identifying Your Game,  above).


  • If you want to enter some additional game selections, you can enter them into positions 1 through 4.  When you are finished, return to your MAIN screen.


  • Now you are at your MAIN screen.  Next, you are going to exit this game and save your entries.


  • At your MAIN screen, select "QUIT" to exit the game.


  • Important:  As you exit, you will come to your  'DATE'  screen.

         Note:  On this screen, be sure to select  "K (KEEP)".

         This will "keep" (save) your entries.

Done.

The next time you start your Lotto program, your game will be on your SELECT A LOTTERY GAME menu.  You will be able to select it with one click.

You can repeat these steps to add other games to your menu.

If you only want to remove a game from the menu, just enter two "spaces" for the State code and Lottery Identifier code.  To do this, just tap your keyboard's 'space' bar twice in each of those fields.

Also you can view your current settings at any time.  On your VIEW menu, just select: "View Your Current Settings".
